CBS v Rory Peck Charity Cricket Match (2011)

IN MEMORY OF PAUL DOUGLAS and JAMES BROLAN
In Aid of the Rory Peck Trust

We had a great day which has raised more than £8,000 for our work.

Many thanks to the CBS News London bureau for organising such a great event and congratulations to Mark Austin and the Rory Peck team on their convincing victory.

Pictures from the day can be found here.

Organised by CBS News, and played in memory of their colleagues Paul Douglas and James Brolan who were killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq in 2006, the CBS XI took on the Rory Peck XI in a competitive charity match on Saturday August 13th at London's Chiswick House cricket pitch.

ITV newscaster Mark Austin captained the Rory Peck team which included players from the BBC, Sky News, ITV News, ITV Sport and freelance community.

Friends, colleagus and family came along to support the teams and enjoy a delicious lunch and all-day bar.  Many more made donations in support of the event and in memory of Paul and James.  Our sincere thanks to all who did so.

If you'd like to make a donation please visit the match's Just Giving Page here.
